Cleaning Restaurant Entrance & Signage

Supplies Needed

  • Mild soap or all-purpose cleaner

Step-by-Step: Cleaning Entrance & Signage

1. Tidy the Entrance Area

  • Sweep leaves, trash, and debris from walkways and door area.

  • Empty outdoor trash bins.

  • Remove gum or sticky residues with a scraper and degreaser.


2. Clean the Door and Windows

  • Wipe down the door (handle, glass, frame) with soapy water or glass cleaner.

  • Disinfect high-touch areas like door handles and push bars.

  • Polish metal components if needed.


4. Clean Exterior Signage

  • Use a soft brush or microfibre cloth to dust the sign.

  • For mounted or high signs, use a ladder and gentle soapy water or a long-handled brush.

  • Rinse with clean water or a low-pressure hose.

  • Use glass cleaner for illuminated/plastic signs.

  • Dry with a soft towel to avoid water spots.

Tip: For heavily soiled signs, use a degreaser or diluted vinegar. Avoid abrasive tools that could scratch the surface.


5. Lighting Check (Optional)

  • Wipe down any outdoor light fixtures.

  • Replace any dim or burned-out bulbs.

  • Make sure signage is properly illuminated if lit at night.

  • Clean signage and entrances 2–3 times per week (more if on a busy street).

  • Avoid using high-pressure water directly on electrical or backlit signs.

  • Keep landscaping neat (bushes, planters, etc.) it's part of the entrance!
