Your Mikos Gyros Portioning Package

Everything in your portioning scoop package, where it all goes, and what to do when it arrives…

Portion size is the thing customers mention most in Mikos Gyros reviews. It’s the biggest driver of poor ratings on this brand, and ratings drive your ranking on the delivery apps, which affects order volume.

So we are sending every Mikos Gyros site a portioning scoop, free of charge, along with a new build sheet and a one-page portion guide built around it.

Watch the portioning video

It’s 2 minutes and covers everything you need to know. Please share it with everyone who prepares gyros, not just managers.

What is in your package

  • Portioning scoop: One scoop is 160g of frozen chicken. Free of charge. Stored in the chicken bag in the freezer.

  • New build sheet: Rewritten around the scoop, so everyone on shift builds the same product the same way.

  • Portion guide: 1 page showing the correct portion for each item. Stick it on the freezer.

  • Foil sleeves: Included if you have not ordered them before. The colder months are coming and sleeves keep food hotter for longer. (These go on your account as usual - the scoop, build sheet and portion guide are on us).

  • A thank you for your work on Mikos Gyros.

Key information

  • One scoop is 160g of frozen chicken

  • The scoop, build sheet and portion guide are free

  • The scoop lives in the bag of frozen chicken, in the freezer

  • The build sheet goes above the cooking station, the portion guide goes on the freezer

  • Send us 3 photos of the scoop, build sheet, and portion guide in the correct places and we’ll put £150 ad spend behind your store

  • Our cooking guidance has changed - chicken is now cooked to order on the flat top, straight from frozen

Cooking chicken to order using your scoop

Our guidance for Mikos Gyros is to scoop chicken straight from frozen onto the flat top when the order comes in, rather than batch-cooking it and holding it.

There are two reasons for this:

  • Chicken that is held loses texture and dries out across a service. Customers notice, and it comes through in reviews.

  • Cooking to order means no prep before service and no tray to keep topped up, so you are not throwing away what does not sell.

The new build sheet and portion guide are both written around this method.

Portioning and compliance

Consistent portioning is part of how we assess Mikos Gyros sites. Using the scoop with the build sheet and portion guide is the simplest way to make sure you are portioning in line with how compliance measures it. The scoop removes the guesswork, so every wrap leaves the kitchen the same.

Send us three photos

Once your package has arrived, take three photos:

  1. The scoop in the bag of frozen chicken

  2. The build sheet on the wall above the cooking station

  3. The portion guide on the freezer

Send them via the photo form below. It takes just 1 minute.

In return we will put £150 of ad spend behind your store, and you will go into a prize draw for £1,000 of advertising.

What ad spend actually does for you

Ad spend is not a cash payment. It is money we spend promoting your store on the delivery apps, which pushes your Mikos Gyros menu higher up in search and listings so more customers see it.
