This article will explain how to prevent menu items being ordered when they are out of stock.
If you run short of a menu item, you will need to 'snooze' it to prevent it from appearing on the platforms.
If you don't, you may still receive orders for it, and this will negatively affect the experience for customers and your menu ratings.
How to mark an item as unavailable
On your tablet, go to Settings > Manage Availability
Use the search bar to find the item
For example, search “mayo” to find every menu it appears on
Mark the item as unavailable
Choose how long it should stay snoozed
Tap SAVE in the top-right corner
You must mark the item as unavailable everywhere it appears, including in bundles.
Please make sure to also snooze the "ingredient" as well as the item itself - an 'ingredient' is a sub-item like sauce or 'extra seasoning'. The easiest way to find everywhere an item or ingredient appears on your menu is to use the search bar in the manage availability sction.
Make sure to mark the item as available again when it is back in stock!
Not in the kitchen? You can also snooze items through the Sessions Dashboard
What to do if the item is still available on Just Eat
We are aware that sometimes your Just Eat menu does not automatically update when you hit 'snooze' and customers might still be able to place an order. If this happens to your menu, heres what to do:
Find the item that you have marked as snoozed on the tablet
Toggle the item back ON, so that it is 'available' again
Toggle the item back OFF again
This should fix the issue, and the items should update on Just Eat.
